4 Ways Living In New York City Completely Changed My Life
Live there and you’ll never be the same
It’s not a lie –– New York changes you.
In 2013, aged 22, I moved from small-town New Zealand across the globe to New York City.
I didn’t know a single person in the country, let alone in the city.
I had no job. No apartment. No connections. And no idea how I would survive.
But there was an intense desire inside to make something of myself.
Within weeks I could see that life would never be quite the same.
I ended up working for a design firm in Soho, living in the East Village, and making incredible friendships.
Importantly, I learned lessons that’ll stay with me for a lifetime.
1. Anything is possible
Have a dream? Living in NYC teaches you that anything’s possible.
New York is the type of place where you say, “I want to go into space,” and someone will reply, “Great. I know an astronaut, let me introduce you.”
It’s foreign for people who aren’t used to this way of thinking.
There, all dreams are possible.
