Becoming a digital nomad is easier than you think

Just over two year’s ago, my then-fiance (now husband) and I sold our furniture, let go of our apartment, quit our jobs and became digital nomads.

We thought we were embarking on the biggest challenge of our lives. What surprised us was this: being a digital nomad wasn’t that hard after all.

Moving countries every month (sometimes more often) is exciting, not challenging. Working from a laptop on the beach, in a hammock, or a vegan cafe is inspiring not distracting. Getting clients on the road is easier than you might think (and even simpler in a post-COVID world).

What is hard?

Doing the same commute day after day with people who don’t want to be doing it either. Working from the same stuffy office with little inspiration. Going to meeting after meeting without getting much done.

Here’s the thing: doing the same thing over and over will get you the same results. If you want a different life, then you must do something different.

Becoming a digital nomad is one way to do that.

If everyone knew how easy it is then…

A lot more people would be doing it. You see, setting yourself up in a new country is quite straightforward: even a country with slow WiFi.
