Digital Nomad Hack: How To Work Anywhere Without Fast WiFi

This is so simple, yet people still seem to miss it.

2019 was an epic year.

It was the year before the digital nomad boom.

Before COVID made travelling tricky.

My husband and I quit our jobs that year.

We started a remote business and went travelling.

But the thing was, we wanted to go to different places.

We didn’t want to get stuck in all the same nomad destinations.

We wanted to go to places where the WiFi sucks.

But how can you run a business like that?

Digital nomad hack — forget the WiFi

Digital nomads don’t go to Arugam Bay.

Except we did.

The place isn’t set up for nomads – it exists for surfers who want to get away from it all (and ride big waves).

Arugam Bay is on the East Coast of Sri Lanka and it’s significantly less developed than the West Coast.

Think painfully slow Wifi. Power cuts every day. Rats in your bathroom and lice in your bed — no joke.
