How To Get Over Shyness And Gain True Confidence

Everyone else is as self-conscious as you are.

I used to be super shy.

Meeting new people was horrible. Looking people in the eye was uncomfortable. Public speaking was a worst-case scenario.

But that's all changed.

These days I love chatting with strangers. I don’t feel inferior when in meetings. And socializing with new people is no big deal.

It took a fair few years, but here’s how I gained true confidence.

Ultimately, it came through deep realizations about human nature.

Everyone’s as sh*t scarred as you are

You only need to read a few spiritual books to realize that everyone else has a negative chatty voice in their heads too.

Observe people for a few days and you’ll see just how ego-driven they are. That’s no criticism though. It’s just that everyone (like you) is concerned about how they appear in the world.

People care about how they look. About how successful they are. About their job title. About what their boss thinks of them. About their relationship status. And the brand of their car.
