Being caught up in the rat race can mean that we find ourselves doing things that don’t align with what we really care about.

We all have to find a way to make a living. But so often, that doesn’t align with our purpose.

Fortunately, you don’t have to quit your job. Or win the lottery. Or drive around the world in a van — though those things are totally legitimate if they call you.

Instead, there are simple things you can do to bring more meaning into the every day — regardless of what your every day looks like.

Practice Daily Appreciation

A flower is just a flower unless you take the time to really look at it. The same goes for a sunrise. A simple houseplant. The sound of the birds chirping in the morning.

These supposedly mundane things can actually bring about a lot of inner peace. And that inner peace can awaken happiness.

Practicing appreciation daily can bring significant meaning into your life. It can help you to see that we’re all connected, that you’re part of a beautiful world, and it can help still your mind — a meaningful practice in and of itself.

Reflect on your life
