Ever wondered why some people become leaders?

Sure, they can talk the talk.

But when you get down to the nitty-gritty you realize they have significant knowledge gaps.

You’ve probably had many bosses and colleagues who were this way.

And all along you were the one feeling out of place?

Perhaps this is you right now, feeling like you don’t belong.

Less knowledge = more confidence

So why are some people just so overconfident?

And why do you feel as though you’re an imposter all the time?

It could come down to the Dunning-Kruger effect. That’s the effect of a low skill base and understanding leading people to the conclusion that they know more than they really do.

Wiki

It’s a paradox that as we gain further skills and knowledge we may actually have lower confidence in our abilities.
