I learned this life hack from web developers
Having worked in 7 different ad agencies and startups across the world — in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Melbourne — I’ve worked with my fair share of web developers.
And while I don’t want to generalise, (they were all individuals of course) I noticed they all have one thing in common.
They hate ambiguity.
As a digital producer, your task is simple… just kidding. The task of a producer can be stressful, confusing, and overwhelming.
The aim: get everyone to agree, work and deliver projects within budget and on time. Who’s everyone? The client, the creative director, the copywriters, the account managers, and the web developers.
The producer often has to be the most motivating person in the team, convincing people who don’t want to rework something that they must do so anyway — because that’s what the client wants.
And the most stubborn workers, I’ve found, are the developers. They have a tough job to do after all (and a lot of gaming to do in their spare time).
Clients are convoluted
Anyone who’s worked with a client will know this: they like to change their minds. They’re not sure what they want, but they’ll know it when they see it. That’s not really it…
