The World’s Happiest man is Matthieu Ricard.

That’s according to scientists who studied his brain for 12 years.

Nueroscentisists used 256 sensors to study Ricard’s brain when he was meditating on compassion. They found levels of gamma waves –– linked to deep concentration, consciousness, learning, and memory –– never seen before.

But it’s not just monks who can gain this level of peace.

Ricard believes that we can all choose to be happy.

Happiness is the result of brain training

Just like training in the gym, Ricard, claims that we can train our brains to have a propensity towards the positive.

“It requires sustained effort in training the mind and developing a set of human qualities, such as inner peace, mindfulness, and altruistic love.” — Matthieu Ricard

But that doesn’t mean we have to spend all day meditation or head to the Himalayas for months at a time.
