I love meditation. I do it every morning. And usually in the afternoon too.

It’s taken me a while to enjoy the process.

In fact, I used to find it highly anxiety-inducing.

But staying with the process was worth it.

Now meditating is like taking a warm bath.

I sink into it and just allow myself to relax.

But there’s something more powerful than meditation

Meditation is great. But if you dive back into mind activity right after meditating, the benefits aren’t as powerful as they could be.

That’s what I was doing — meditating, then allowing the mental noise to start up almost immediately.

The key — I’ve been told by those wiser than me — is to keep that mindful state through the day.

That’s the real trick.

So how do you do it?

By bringing awareness to the smaller moments in life.

While taking a shower, washing your hands, walking through your garden, and peeling vegetables.
