Optimizing brain waves might be the secret to success
Your brain includes a complex web of neurons. When you complete a function, those neurons transmit to each other through electric signals and those signals can be measured in wave patterns –– known as brain waves.
Your brain waves vary depending on whether you’re asleep, awake, bored, or deeply focussed. The waves include:
- Delta waves are the slowest occurring when you’re asleep. They’re essential for deep rest and recuperation.
- Theta waves are a little faster and are associated with sleepiness, light sleep, and daydreaming.
- Alpha waves are linked to relaxed wakefulness –– being alert, but also calm. They can be helpful for learning and focus.
- Beta waves occur in everyday activities when you’re busy and focused. Low beta occurs when you’re thinking, typical beta when performing activities, and high beta when you’re excited or anxious.
