In 2019 I wasn’t particularly familiar with Medium.
I must have stumbled across Medium after a recommendation –– but I don’t specifically remember.
I published a few articles on the platform and promptly forgot about it. I was travelling the world in 2019 after quitting my job and becoming a digital nomad.
And I wasn’t focused on creating content online.
My Medium account was associated with an old email address so when an article I wrote went viral, I had no idea.

When I eventually realised that many people were viewing my article –– there were already hundreds of claps, comments and thousands of views.
Most comments were supportive, but many weren’t.
